Privacy Policy
Pizza Scout helps people compare publicly available pizza prices in Fairfax County, Virginia. This page explains the limited data the app uses.
Data we use
- Nearby restaurant searches are performed through Apple MapKit around Fairfax County. The current release does not request or collect your precise device location.
- Grocery and restaurant price requests send a search term and Fairfax-area ZIP code to the Pizza Scout server. Retailer credentials remain securely on the server.
- If you participate in Community, Pizza Scout creates a random anonymous identifier and stores the review, ratings, tags, final amount you submit, votes, reports, blocks, and timestamps.
- App preferences and an anonymous Community access token are stored on your device.
The anonymous identifier is not connected to your name, email address, advertising identity, or payment information.
What we do not do
Pizza Scout does not sell personal data, use cross-app advertising tracking, or request payment-card information. Restaurant, grocery, Apple, and ordering websites have their own privacy practices when you choose to open their links.
Retention and deletion
Community information is retained until the anonymous account is deleted or moderation requires removal. In the app, open Settings → Privacy & community data → Delete community account and data to permanently delete the anonymous account, reviews, votes, and reports.
Local preferences can also be removed by deleting the app from your iPhone.
Security and contact
Traffic between Pizza Scout and its server uses HTTPS. Never include access tokens, retailer credentials, payment details, or other sensitive information in a public support message.
